SUNDAY SESSION AT THE RITZ-CARLTON, HALF MOON BAY

8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

For the second year in a row, the Stanford Rock Center for Corporate Governance invites you to attend a special session at the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, on  Sunday June 24, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This year’s presentation will feature Professor Cliff Nass, from Stanford’s Department of Communications.  Professor Nass will speak about Distraction in the Workplace: The short- and long-term effects and some possible solutions.

Distraction in the workplace is becoming ubiquitous with the growth of technologies that facilitate multitasking and the organizational policies and cultural values that downplay attention and focus.  In this talk, Prof Nass will describe the short- and long-term consequences of multitasking on cognition and emotion and describe best practices for limiting the damaging effects.

The session will be followed by the participants choice in a round of golf or wine tasting.

Session Rate: $500.00
All registrants in the Sunday Session will be provided transportation to and from the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay and the Stanford Park Hotel in Palo Alto and  lunch.
