Biography
Ana Sambold is one of California’s leading figures in the field of dispute resolution. She is a Mediator and Arbitrator inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, Internationally Certified Mediator (IMI) and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) member. She has served as a neutral in over 1,000 cases across a broad spectrum of civil litigation matters involving commercial, insurance, property, employment, multinational and multilingual parties.
Ms. Sambold is on the neutral panels of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), American Arbitration Association (AAA), ADR Services, Inc., and several U.S. courts, federal and state agencies.
She is the Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association (ABA) Dispute Resolution Section, Co-Chair of the ABA Advanced Mediation and Advocacy Skills Institute, and Vice-Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) ADR Section. She is a former Co-Chair of the California Lawyers Association Litigation Section – ADR Committee and member of the Board of Directors of CIArb North American Branch and the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA).
Ms. Sambold is also a Negotiation Professor at University of San Diego School of Law and has served as a Comparative Law Professor at California Western School of Law. She is a frequent speaker and author on ADR topics.
She is fluent in Spanish and mediates and arbitrates regularly using both English and Spanish. She is a dually qualified attorney in the U.S. (California and U.S. Federal Court Southern District) and in Colombia. She received her Master of Law from University of San Diego School of Law (USD) and her training and credentials in dispute resolution from Harvard Law School, Pepperdine University School of Law – Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, CIArb and Columbia Law School.
