Nichelle S. Carr

Nichelle S. Carr is Founder of West City One Studios, a film and television production company that develops and produces “New Stories from New Voices” — evocative and entertaining untold stories from diverse perspectives for a global, multicultural audience via theatrical, television and digital distribution. Before West City One Studios, Nichelle worked at NBCUniversal in both London and Los Angeles, where she was Vice President of Business Affairs at Focus Features and at Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Nichelle has fifteen years of business affairs and legal experience across international media, technology and finance, and is admitted to practice in California, New York, England and Wales. Her career encompasses several industries, involving work with complex concepts in the context of highly visible, public-facing companies in heavily regulated industries. Prior to NBCUniversal, she was Senior Counsel at pioneer gaming company SEGA’s European headquarters in London, and she practiced with Linklaters LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where she specialized in complex cross-border corporate, commercial and financial transactions. Nichelle serves on the Board of Directors of the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, the Board of Directors of the British royal family’s charity The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award USA, and the Advisory Council of the MojaMoja Innovation Fund and Annual Benefit Concert.
