Biography

Kevin; founder of Aon’s Cyber Solutions Group in 2000, leads Aon’s global practice to identify exposures and develop insurance solutions related to intangible assets, including intellectual property, technology errors and omissions, miscellaneous professional liability, media liability and coordination of multiple lines of insurance related to cyber perils and digital assets, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT/5G, crypto, NFT’s, quantum computing, FinTech/Defi, robotics and metaverse/Web3 related issues.

A 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012(Finalist), 2014 and 2016 (Finalist) Risk & Insurance “Power Broker,” Kevin writes frequent articles, blogs and the cyber insurance book chapters, such as “Cyber Insurance For Law Firms and Legal Organizations,” included within The American Bar Association Cybersecurity Handbook: A Resource for Attorneys, Law Firms, and Business Professional (2nd & 3rd Editions); “Treating Cyber Risks – Using Insurance and Finance,” included within Wiley Finance Series: The Cyber Risk Handbook: Creating and Measuring Effective Cybersecurity Capabilities.  Kevin is also quoted in numerous publications, including Ted Koppel’s 2015 book, Light’s Out (with Ajit Jain of Berkshire Hathaway), the Wall Street Journal, Time, Forbes and Bloomberg, and a frequent speaker regarding Professional Liability related issues in various venues, including CNBC, RIMS, PLUS, American Bar Association, American Bankers Association, FERMA, World Economic Forum, Stanford  Program in Law, Science and Technology, CCH Computer Law Advisory Council,  and Association of Financial Professionals. Advised Department of Homeland Security regarding insurance requirements with respect to the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (“SAFETY Act”).

Kevin joined Aon in September 2000, from Altima Technologies, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and led the successful launch of an Internet of Things intelligent visualization of network equipment software product with respect to telecommunications, data, cables, and computers. Prior to Altima, Kevin was a partner at Chapman and Cutler Law Firm, where he represented domestic and international technology focused public and private entities in general corporate matters, intellectual property, M & A, venture capital and institutional investor transactions; and professional athletes. Served as Chicago Bar Association Legislative Liaison (Corporations Committee).

Kevin coached inner-city baseball at Cabrini-Green public housing projects for eight years, which is featured in the book, and movie, “Hardball.” Former Chairman of The Frank Thomas Charitable Foundation. While in Law School, Kevin was a Graduate Assistant Football Coach at The University of Michigan, working for Bo Schembechler. Kevin was Los Angeles Coliseum Venue Captain at the 1984 Olympics.

Kevin earned a B.A. degree in Economics and Mathematics, Cum Laude, from Yale University (1984) and a Juris Doctor from The University of Michigan Law School (1987).
