Juan O. Perla

Biography

Juan is a litigator and global business lawyer specializing in international disputes and complex cross-border legal issues. He represents and counsels a wide array of clients including foreign states, international companies, investment funds and executives across industries. And he is a leader in his firm’s AI and emerging tech practice.

As a litigator, Juan focuses on critical motions and high-stakes appeals in U.S. courts including before the Supreme Court. He has litigated novel issues relating to international trade, economic sanctions, foreign investment, national security, and foreign sovereign immunity, among others. He has experience handling complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, particularly with respect to the enforcement of international arbitral awards and discovery and execution of assets worldwide. He also represent clients in administrative proceedings and international arbitrations.

Juan holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, and an MPA from the University of Southern California. He clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
