Biography
Michele Lee is General Counsel in Residence at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. With a track record of advising executives and board directors as both in-house and outside counsel, Michele combines strategic thinking, legal expertise, and operational rigor to unlock impactful business outcomes.
Prior to joining the firm, Michele served as general counsel at Pinterest, where she routinely counseled the company’s executive leadership team and board on ways to address rapid changes in the regulatory landscape and develop innovative solutions to drive growth. She also advised business units on the likelihood of legal risk materialization, particularly in the areas of AI, copyright, privacy, and consumer protection, and effective ways to manage such risks.
Michele previously was senior director, associate general counsel, and head of global litigation, regulatory, and competition at Twitter. In this role, she counseled executives, directors, and senior business leaders on litigation and regulatory risk and oversaw a team responsible for managing global litigation and regulatory inquiries covering areas such as online speech, content safety, and global competition.
Earlier in her career, Michelle served as global litigation and competition counsel at Visa, where she developed and executed strategies for effectively resolving antitrust and patent disputes and advised executives on laws and regulations impacting the company’s business. She also worked as a trial attorney in the Department of Justice’s Civil Division, Commercial Litigation, Fraud Section, where she led multi-jurisdictional investigations and cases of civil fraud committed against the United States.
Michele began her legal career as an associate at White & Case and Wilson Sonsini.
