Rachael Vaughn Ray

Biography

Rachael is a technology lawyer in San Francisco who has worked inhouse as part of corporate legal departments for over 20 years with over a decade of product counseling experience. She currently leads the product counsel function at Roblox. Prior to Roblox, she worked as a product and commercial lawyer at both Google and Microsoft.

Rachael has guided a number of teams through first of kind launches in various product areas including AR/VR devices for the metaverse, digital health/fitness products, AI/ML models for powering visual search, and digital wallets for global markets. During her time at Google she also counseled the Owlchemy Labs VR game studio. Her areas of expertise include intellectual property, privacy, and payments regulatory counseling, consumer protection.

Rachael has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Michigan and graduated from the University of Houston Law Center, During her free time, Rachael is also a longtime member of the legal committee for the Organization for Transformative Works.
