Biography
Shah Hafizi is a capital markets executive and attorney specializing in securities and derivatives regulation. He previously led legal coverage for the derivatives and swaps businesses at UBS AG and FinTech initiatives at BlackRock as CCO. Prior to that, as special counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, he helped draft Dodd–Frank Title VII rules governing security-based swaps and OTC derivatives clearing, in consultation with the CFTC as part of its broader implementation of the U.S. swaps regime. He regularly advises leading DeFi applications and infrastructure providers.
