Biography
Jon DeBord is the Head of Legal – Banking & Derivatives at Robinhood, where he leads legal oversight for the firm’s derivatives brokerage, banking services, and credit card products. His practice focuses on the regulatory and operational frameworks for futures, event contracts, and retail banking innovation. Prior to Robinhood, Jon served as General Counsel of ForecastEx, a CFTC-registered event contract market, and held senior legal roles at Interactive Brokers and Citi. Jon’s expertise is rooted in his tenure at the CFTC, where he served as Counsel to Commissioner Jill E. Sommers, during the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act.
