Scott Pink

Biography

A former general counsel for a major media company, Scott Pink brings an insider’s perspective to his broad-based practice. It’s what’s made him the lead outside privacy, advertising and marketing counsel to several well-known brands, and a sought-after resource on intellectual property, artificial intelligence, privacy and cybersecurity issues. He leads the Data Privacy and Security Practice in Silicon Valley, heads up the firm’s trademark practice and is co-chair of the firm’s Advertising, Marketing and Branding practice.

Scott had led many privacy and security compliance initiatives worldwide for clients, including assessments relating to the use of artificial intelligence in products, CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance, HIPAA compliance audits, compliance with financial security regulations (GLBA and NYDFS) and security audits for cryptocurrency and blockchain companies. He served as data protection officer for the Diem alternative coin project. He is a thought leader on CCPA and GDPR issues, having published articles in Cybersecurity Law Report and spoken at conferences hosted by INTA, the Practicing Law Institute and the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He is the author of the California Consumer Privacy Act Annotated published by the Practising Law Institute and Internet and Ecommerce Law Handbook published by Random House.

Previously, Scott led the advertising and marketing group at another AmLaw 100 law firm. He also served as vice president, general counsel and secretary for Prima Communications, an international media and publishing company. He speaks frequently on the subjects of artificial intelligence, marketing and promotions, intellectual property law, privacy and security, and Internet law.
