Biography
Jad is the 40th president and CEO of American Forests, leading the nation’s oldest forest conservation NGO with a focus on climate change and social equity, achieving nearly ten-fold growth since 2018. A pioneer in nature-based solutions, he co-founded the Forest-Climate Working Group in 2007 and has driven key policy wins like the REPLANT Act and forest provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act. Recognized by TIME Climate 100 and Washingtonian 500 for his climate leadership, Jad serves as Co-Chair for the U.S. Chapter of 1t.org and is widely published in outlets such as TIME, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. He holds degrees from Brown University and Vermont Law School (summa cum laude) and is a passionate endurance athlete who has represented Team USA at the ITU World Duathlon Championships.
