Ryan Orbuch is a Partner at Lowercarbon Capital, leading its carbon removal work. Before this, he launched and led Stripe’s carbon removal procurement program, widely regarded as the industry’s best. Ryan developed partnerships with organizations like Activate and Deep Science Ventures, recruited scientific experts globally, and led reviews of numerous carbon removal projects, giving him deep insight into approaches like direct air capture, mineralization, and ocean alkalinity enhancement. A trusted advisor to entrepreneurs scaling carbon removal, he has spoken at prestigious forums such as the National Academy of Sciences and contributed to the CDR Primer. Ryan’s background spans software startups, including co-founding Volley, an education platform, and developing Finish, an Apple Design Award-winning app. Originally from Boulder, CO, he now resides in NYC, fueled by curiosity and a passion for climate solutions.
