{"id":9,"date":"2021-11-03T21:04:13","date_gmt":"2021-11-03T21:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/computational-antitrust-exploring-antitrust\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2021-11-19T19:31:31","modified_gmt":"2021-11-19T19:31:31","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/computational-antitrust-exploring-antitrust\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/codex-the-stanford-center-for-legal-informatics\/\">CodeX &#8211; The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics<\/a> is organizing the world\u2019s first (online) conference dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/codex-the-stanford-center-for-legal-informatics\/computational-antitrust\/\">Computational Antitrust <\/a>\u2013 exploring how legal informatics can foster the automation of antitrust procedures and the improvement of antitrust analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Antitrust agencies from over 50 countries, top academics, and practitioners will discuss advances in the field for what promises to be a groundbreaking conversation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Day 1 | December 13,<\/strong>\u00a0will be dedicated to introducing computational antitrust, its potential, and limits.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 2 | December 14<\/strong>, scholars will explore how computational tools (e.g., natural language processing and topic modeling) could increase our understanding of antitrust case law and legislation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Day 3 | December 15,<\/strong>\u00a0will be devoted to how other computational tools (e.g., fitness measurement, agent-based modeling, machine learning-based APIs) could augment antitrust agencies\u2019 enforcement capacities. Join us!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Should you have any question, please contact Prof. Thibault Schrepel at <a href=\"mailto:schrepel@stanford.edu\">schrepel@stanford.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Project Creator &amp; Director<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-62 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/computational-antitrust-exploring-antitrust\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/115\/2021\/11\/people-42-915x783-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/> <strong>Thibault Schrepel<br \/>\n<\/strong>Stanford University; Utrecht University<\/p>\n<p>Dr. <a href=\"http:\/\/thibaultschrepel.com\/en\/\">Thibault Schrepel<\/a>, LL.M., is an Associate Professor of Law at VU Amsterdam University where he co-direct the <a href=\"https:\/\/alti.amsterdam\/\">Amsterdam Law &amp; Technology Institute<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/directory\/thibault-schrepel\/\">Faculty Affiliate<\/a> at Stanford University CodeX Center where he has created the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/codex-the-stanford-center-for-legal-informatics\/computational-antitrust\/\">Computational Antitrust<\/a>\u201d project. Thibault also holds research and teaching positions at the University Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne and Sciences Po Paris. He is a Harvard University Berkman Center alumnus, a member of the French Superior Audiovisual Council\u2019s scientific board, also, a blockchain expert appointed to the World Economic Forum and the World Bank.
