Marcela Mattiuzzo

Marcela Mattiuzzo is a PhD Candidate at the University of São Paulo (USP) and partner in the practice areas of competition law and data protection at VMCA, a boutique Brazilian law firm. Previously, she served as advisor and chief of staff to the Office of the President at the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), the Brazilian antitrust authority.

She has written widely on topics ranging from antitrust compliance to the sharing economy, the regulation of algorithms, AI, and data protection. She is currently coordinator of NUCED, the nucleus on competition and digital economy at USP, as well as Professor at the MBA on AI and Big Data from the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Computation.

She earned her LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) and MSc (Master of Laws) from the University of São Paulo (USP) and is currently a fellow at the Information Society Project at Yale University.
