Biography
Jessica Litman is the John F. Nickoll Professor of Law at the University of Michigan. She is the author of Digital Copyright and the co-author, with Jane Ginsburg, Mary Lou Kevlin, and Rebecca Tushnet of the casebook Trademarks and Unfair Competition Law: Cases and Materials. She had been teaching copyright law for 41 years. In addition to the University of Michigan Law School, Litman has taught copyright law at Wayne State University, New York University, American University, Washington College of Law, and the University of Tokyo. Litman has served as a trustee of the Copyright Society of the USA, a chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Intellectual Property, an adviser for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of Copyright, a member of the Future of Music Coalition’s advisory council and a member of the advisory board for Public Knowledge.
