Zahr Said

Biography

Professor Said joined the faculty at Santa Clara University School of Law in 2024 after teaching at the University of Washington School of Law for 13 years and serving as Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development for three years. She has also taught at the University Virginia School of Law and Stanford Law School. Said’s research focuses on copyright law and interpretive issues as well as on the role of the jury in intellectual property litigation. Said teaches courses in copyright law, intellectual property law, and tort law. She published a free open-access casebook, now in its second edition, that reorients the teaching of tort law around issues of race, gender, class, ability, and other sociological factors.
