Bonnie W. Gwin is vice chairman and co-managing partner of the global CEO & Board Practice. Bonnie previously held the title of managing partner of the firm’s Board Practice in North America where she focused on searches both at the director and CEO level across a wide range of industries.
Bonnie is a widely regarded expert on leadership effectiveness, diversity and corporate social responsibility at the CEO and board level. She is often interviewed by global media organizations, including CNN, Fortune, Crain’s and Directors & Boards. Bonnie shares CEO and board insights on such important topics as top leadership effectiveness, board diversity and women in leadership as an ‘influencer’ on LinkedIn. Bonnie has also hosted multiple forums with senior women around the world to discuss diversity in the boardroom. She was named by NACD Directorship to its “Directorship 100” list of influential boardroom recruiters every year since 2010.
Previously at Heidrick & Struggles, Bonnie served as Americas president and corporate officer responsible for all of the firm’s operations in North and Latin America. She has served in many other leadership roles for the firm, including global managing partner, Technology Practice, and managing partner, North America Quality Council. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Bonnie spent almost 13 years with the IBM Corporation.
In conjunction with her career accomplishments, Bonnie has been active in a number of high-profile organizations. She is a member of the Georgetown University board of regents, serves on the board of trustees of Chautauqua Institution, and previously served as chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
