Alicia Seiger

Biography

Alicia builds solutions at the frontier of a changing climate where science, technology, policy, and finance intersect. A visionary climate strategist, Alicia translates complex sustainability challenges into actionable solutions through innovation and cross-sector collaboration. Currently directing a new climate program at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, she previously led sustainability and energy finance initiatives at Stanford Law, Graduate School of Business, and the Doerr School for Sustainability.

Alicia is also a Visiting Scholar at Stanford where she teaches periodically. She serves on the boards of PRIME Coalition and the E-liability Institute and is a member of the Oxford Open Climate Change Journal editorial board. She has held executive roles at pioneering startups, including at TerraPass, which helped establish the US voluntary carbon offset market, and Flycast Communications, one of the world’s first web advertising networks.

Alicia co-authored “Settling Climate Accounts: Navigating the Road to Net Zero” which examines the rise of private finance on the global climate action stage, analyzes the challenges of net zero in practice, and makes recommendations for the road ahead. She holds a BA from Duke University in a self-designed curriculum focused on environmental science and policy and cultural anthropology and earned her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
