Sarah Bana
Dr. Sarah Bana is a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford’s Digital Economy Lab, part of Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. Her research brings together new techniques in natural language processing with data on firms’ demands for skills in the form of job postings, providing unique insights that could not have been measured with the same nuance with survey data. These insights serve to provide improved strategic advice for firms and workers, along with improved policy prescriptions for governments.
Sarah’s research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, the Journal of Econometrics, and Sloan Management Review. Her projects have been featured by the BBC Business Daily and funded by the Russell Sage Foundation. Her dissertation received Honorable Mention for the Upjohn Institute’s best Ph.D. dissertation on employment-related issues.
