Kate Didech

CodeX Fellow

Kate Didech is an attorney, urban planner, and Fellow at CodeX: The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics. Kate explores how regulations that govern the built environment can be made more comprehensible, navigable, accessible, and actionable.

Kate’s interest in leveraging technology to make cities more livable grew out of her experience working with and for local government. This experience includes helping launch Flux Metro, a web-based application that renders 3D visualizations of the maximum buildout permitted under local zoning ordinances. Kate has also assisted cities and counties across California on long-range city planning, zoning, and urban design matters; planned parks for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department; and brought litigation to advance economic and social justice for the residents of Santa Clara County.

Kate received a B.A. from Stanford, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and a Certificate in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley Extension. She currently serves on the board of Next City, a non-profit with a mission to inspire social, economic and environmental change in cities through journalism and events around the world.
