Data Scientist, Stanford Computational Policy Lab
Amy Shoemaker is a data scientist in the Stanford Computational Policy Lab, where she has worked on analyzing racial disparities in policing practices. As part of the Open Policing Project, she helped process and analyze over 100 million traffic stops across the US. She is passionate about using mathematical tools to understand, raise awareness about, and work to change systemic inequities. Amy received her B.S. in Pure Mathematics from Pomona College and her M.S. from Stanford University’s Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering. She loves good books (with tea) and the outdoors (with sunshine).
