Jameson Dempsey

Residential Fellow, CodeX – The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics

Jameson is a technology attorney and community builder who currently serves on the board of directors of Legal Hackers, a global movement that fosters creative problem-solving at the intersection of law and technology through education, prototyping, and policy discussions.

Jameson joins CodeX from Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, where he advised clients on federal and state privacy, information security, and communications issues. Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Jameson clerked for Magistrate Judge Roanne L. Mann in the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of New York, and during law school he clerked for FCC Commissioner Robert M. McDowell. Before law school, Jameson worked in the litigation technology group of White & Case LLP, where he focused on eDiscovery and trial technology.

Jameson’s work has earned him recommendations in Legal500 (Data Protection and Privacy), a 2016 “Fastcase 50” award, a fellowship with the Internet Law & Policy Foundry, as well as speaking engagements at SXSW, Mobile World Congress (4YFN), CTIA Super Mobility Week, the Legal Design Summit, and the Computers, Freedom & Privacy Conference.

Jameson earned a B.A. in political science and philosophy from Boston College, where he served as Production Director of WZBC-Newton, and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Law Review, a member of the Appellate Moot Court Honor Society, and a participant in the Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy (BLIP) Clinic. Jameson enjoys writing sketch comedy and writing and playing music.
