{"id":482,"date":"2022-03-09T18:02:42","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T18:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/futurelaw2022\/?page_id=482"},"modified":"2022-04-06T23:27:52","modified_gmt":"2022-04-06T23:27:52","slug":"related-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/futurelaw2022\/related-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Related DAO Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>DAOs and Systems for Resilient Societies @ FutureLaw 2022<br \/>\nApril 8, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Convened each April, the Stanford University FutureLaw conference is the preeminent gathering on the future of law and legal systems. This year, the CodeX Blockchain Group in the Stanford CodeX Center for Legal Informatics, is hosting a set of in-person and online dialogues that will bring together scholars and practitioners from law, policy, technology, civil society and business. Roundtable participants will discuss ongoing developments in blockchain, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO), and composable governance\u2014and explore how we can utilize them in service of a more resilient society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collective sensemaking, data sharing, user-designer feedback loops, and community-scale interventions all have the potential to benefit from decentralized governance systems. In developing these systems for more resilient societies, we aim to engage with concerns for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion among human stakeholders, while protecting bio-regional ecological and planetary health. Such efforts can help us coordinate at the global and local level, and every level in between.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The dialogues intersect with CodeX\u2019s ongoing interdisciplinary work on Systems for Resilient Societies, launched in 2021 in collaboration with colleagues at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/woods.stanford.edu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptolab.stanford.edu\/about\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stanford Distributed Trust Initiative<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/projects\/cdpi\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stanford Climate Data Policy Initiative<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>This convening will bring together legal scholars and practitioners, with technology professionals versed in DAOs, and resilience subject experts.
