David Hornik

General Partner, August Capital

David Hornik has been working with startups across the technology spectrum for more than two decades now. He is General Partner at August Capital, where he has been for the last 17 years, investing in a broad array of software businesses. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, David was a corporate and licensing attorney at Venture Law Group and Perkins Coie LLP. David clerked for Judge Frank X. Altimari on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and was also a litigator at Cravath Swaine & Moore. David has an AB in Computer Music from Stanford, an M.Phil in Criminology from Cambridge, and a JD from Harvard. He currently teaches at both Harvard Law School and Stanford Business School.
