Biography
Jeff Aronson is a partner at DLA Piper LLP in Palo Alto, where he has practiced since 1999. He concentrates his practice in technology and intellectual property transactions.
Jeff has represented emerging growth and major public companies in hundreds of software, hardware, Internet, patent licensing, and other complex commercial and intellectual property transactions. He has extensive experience in software licensing (including cloud, open source and AI software), hardware transactions, and patent licensing matters and regularly assists investors and acquirers with the intellectual property aspects of the investment and M&A transaction, and frequently serves as settlement counsel in patent litigation cases. His clients come from a broad range of industries and include public and private Internet, software, and hardware (including semiconductor and networking) companies. He also provides advice on the development and commercialization of a company’s products and technology and the establishment, protection, and defense of its intellectual property rights.
The Legal 500 United States has recognized Jeff and said that he “internalizes the clients’ core business requirements, executing a deal that is workable for all parties.” He has also been recognized over the years for his patent licensing and technology licensing transactional work as well as for his commercial contract transactions work.
