Biography
Ben Broché leads the Climate Policy Initiative’s Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab). The Lab is a coalition of over 70 governments, development finance institutions, and private investors that identifies, develops, and launches innovative financial instruments to drive billions to renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable cities, land-use, and other sectors. The Lab has mobilized more than $3 billion in investment toward climate action in developing and emerging economies.
Most recently, Ben has worked on the development of two energy access focused instruments – the Green Aggregation Tech Enterprise (GATE), Solar Securitization for Rwanda, and The Breathe Better Bond.
Before joining CPI in 2015, Ben spent several years at Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), an international consultancy and business network focused on sustainability, where he managed global business and multi-stakeholder collaborations focused on corporate sustainability and climate strategy. Prior to that, Ben was with Give2Asia, which advises companies and foundations on their charitable investments in Asia.
Ben holds a M.Sc. in International Development Studies from the University of Bristol.
