Evelyn Kessler is a PhD candidate in History at the University of Chicago. Her dissertation is an intellectual, legal, and cultural history of consent in the United States in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Before her graduate studies, Kessler taught high school English in her hometown of Los Angeles.
