{"id":14,"date":"2022-02-03T00:29:39","date_gmt":"2022-02-03T00:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/legal-histories-of-disease\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2022-02-20T20:41:57","modified_gmt":"2022-02-20T20:41:57","slug":"graduate-student-annual-conference-paper-prize","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/conferences.law.stanford.edu\/legal-histories-of-disease\/graduate-student-annual-conference-paper-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Student Annual Conference Paper Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Applications are Now Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/law.stanford.edu\/stanford-center-for-law-and-history\/\">Stanford Center for Law and History<\/a> invites paper submissions from graduate students for its fourth annual conference, \u201cLegal Histories of Disease.\u201d Areas of possible, but certainly not exhaustive, legal-historical interest for the conference include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disease and the state<\/li>\n<li>Disease and public health management<\/li>\n<li>Disease and welfare<\/li>\n<li>Disease and private health management including intersections between, disease, law, and insurance<\/li>\n<li>Epidemics, pandemics, and responses to outbreaks in disease<\/li>\n<li>Disease, immigration, and borders of entry and exit<\/li>\n<li>Law, race, disability, and medicine<\/li>\n<li>Disease and segregation<\/li>\n<li>Disease and the courts<\/li>\n<li>Disease and legislative reform<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SCLH\u2019s goal is to bring together faculty, postdocs, and students for workshops, conferences, and lectures examining the relationships between law and history, broadly defined. With these goals in mind we encourage submissions from scholars working across disciplines. International, comparative, and US perspectives are all encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>The conference organizers will select one graduate student as the winner of the SCLH Graduate Student Paper Prize. This student will present on one of the three panels. Funding for travel and housing will be provided assuming we are indeed able to move forward with an in-person event as hoped.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CV<\/li>\n<li>Paper abstract (500 words or less)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Applications are now closed<\/strong>.
