Jens Frankenreiter

Jens Frankenreiter is the Postdoctoral Fellow in Empirical Law and Economics at the Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School.

Jens’s research and teaching focus on business law, in particular corporate and contract law, and the functioning of legal institutions. Much of his work uses quantitative methods and other computational tools such as automated text analysis and machine learning. His writing has appeared in leading academic journals, among them the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies and the Southern California Law Review.

Jens holds a Ph.D. from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) and a LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Before coming to Columbia, he was a Senior Research Fellow at Max Planck Bonn and a Visiting Associate Professor of Law at the University of Virginia School of Law.
