David Jones
Executive Director, High Tech Inventors Alliance
David Jones is the Executive Director of the High Tech Inventors Alliance, a group that focuses on U.S. patent policy and includes some of the world’s largest patent owners and most successful technology companies. Before his current role, David spent more than a decade as the Assistant General Counsel for patent policy at Microsoft. Prior to joining Microsoft, he held several positions on the staff of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee – including IP Counsel and Chief Antitrust Counsel – after having practiced in the regulatory and appellate group at Sidley & Austin. David received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review, and subsequently clerked for the Honorable William L. Garwood on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and for the Honorable Sharon Prost on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
