Daniel Changxiao Sun ‘25

Biography

Daniel Sun is a sophomore at Stanford University majoring in Physics and Mathematics with a minor in Music. He is interested in studying theoretical physics and is currently doing research in quantum information theory. He is also interested in physics applications in clean energy, such as nuclear fusion. Outside of the STEM field, he plays flute and piccolo with Stanford Symphony Orchestra, Stanford Flute Ensemble, and Stanford Collaborative Orchestra. He was one of the winners of the 2023 Stanford Concerto Competition. In his free time, Daniel enjoys browsing the physics and math StackExchanges, playing video games, and spending time in cold weather.
