Biography
Francesco Contini is Research Director at the Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems of the National Research Council of Italy. His research examines the evolution of judicial systems, with particular attention to how managerial innovation, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence affect judicial governance and the quality of justice delivery. His work explores how these different streams of innovation can remain consistent with the fundamental judicial values enshrined in Article 6(1) of the European Convention on Human Rights and how judicial governance should be organised to address the resulting challenges. He has collaborated with international organisations on judicial reform initiatives across Europe, Africa, and Asia and is frequently invited to lecture at judicial academies and universities.
