Biography
Judge Lech Garlicki, professor at Lazarski University in Warsaw (Poland)
Retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Poland (1993-2001) and of the European Court of Human Rights (2002-2012)
Visiting professor at Washington University in Saint Louis (2017-2024) and, between 2012 and 2017 at several other universities, including Yale, NYU, University of Chicago, Hong Kong University and Reichman University in Herzliya.
Vice-president of the International Association of Constitutional Law (2011-2018) and one of the Founding Members of the European Law Institute. Member of several editorial boards, including International Journal of Constitutional Law and Annuaire International de Justice Constitutionnelle.
Author or editor of over 400 publications in different languages, including a five-volume Commentary to the 1997 Constitution of Poland and two-volume Commentary to the European Convention on Human Rights
