Biography
Jung Won Kim is the Former Secretary General of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Korea. He previously served as Deputy Secretary General of the Court and was a Substitute Member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe from 2020 to 2023. Earlier in his career, he served more than two decades as a judge in various Korean courts and was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford Law School. He holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. from Seoul National University. His recent work includes the book The Rise of the Constitution in Japan and Korea (2022, in Korean), and he has presented widely at international conferences on constitutional adjudication and democratic governance.
