Mehran Sahami

Mehran Sahami is a Professor (Teaching) and Associate Chair for Education in the Computer Science department at Stanford University. He is also the Robert and Ruth Halperin University Fellow in Undergraduate Education. Prior to joining the Stanford faculty in 2007, he was a Senior Research Scientist at Google.  With research interests at the intersection of AI and education, Mehran co-founded the Symposium on Educational Advances in Artificial Intelligence and the ACM Conference on Learning at Scale. In 2018, he was appointed by former California Governor Jerry Brown to serve on the California K-12 Computer Science Strategic Implementation Advisory Panel.  With Rob Reich and Jeremy Weinstein, he has been teaching a new course on computers, ethics, and public policy.
