Reid Kress Weisbord

Biography

Reid Kress Weisbord is a Distinguished Professor of Law and the Judge Norma L. Shapiro Scholar at Rutgers Law School. He is also a visiting professor of law at Columbia Law School and the University of Miami Law School. Weisbord’s scholarship focuses on the law of wealth transfer, probate, tax, and property.  Weisbord is co-author of the CCH treatise, Estate Planning by Casner, Pennell, and Weisbord, and the Aspen legal textbook, Wills, Trusts, and Estates: The Essentials. His scholarly publications include more than 60 law review articles, essays, and book chapters. Weisbord is an elected Academic Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, editor of the peer-reviewed ACTEC Law Journal, co-editor of the Trusts & Estates Section of Jotwell, and former chair of the Trusts & Estates Section of the American Association of Law Schools. He served as Vice Dean of Rutgers Law School for six years.
