Chris Middleton

Biography

Chris Middleton is a Stanford Law School Deane F. Johnson Public Interest Fellow, based in Oakland, CA. His fellowship is focused on advocacy opportunities to improve the provision of care to California’s queer youth in foster care, congregate care, and juvenile detention. During his time at the Youth Law Center (YLC), Chris has also focused on the intersections between juvenile justice, education, child welfare reform, and decarceration. Prior to joining YLC, Chris served as a law clerk to Judge Myron H. Thompson and Judge W. Keith Watkins in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Chris is a proud first-gen/low-income (FLI) alumnus of Stanford University (2016) and Stanford Law School (2021).
