Biography
Elizabeth “Leesa” Nomura works on behalf of other women in the penal system as the membership organizer for the California Coalition for Women Prisoners (CCWP). As a formerly incarcerated woman, Leesa brings direct experience of the prison system and can speak to CCWP’s many programs inside and outside California’s women’s prisons. She will also be able to highlight the ways in which lawyers and legal advocacy are essential to the work that needs to be done for incarcerated people.
