In the context of the prolonged housing crisis in the greater Bay Area, movements for housing and land justice are imagining a future beyond displacement through the creation of symbiotic organizing structures where grassroots, legal, and legislative strategies work in tandem. This panel showcases advocates and organizations that are engaged in challenging rampant gentrification and housing insecurity through wideranging models, including establishing community land trusts, working to extend tenant protections to rural farmworkers, developing innovative policy solutions to increase sustainable, affordable housing, providing legal support to tenant unions and organizers, and building a broader solidarity economy for all.
