Ragesh K. Tangri

Biography

Ragesh Tangri has represented clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 100 companies in cases ranging from legal malpractice and commercial litigation to high-stakes intellectual property and trade secret matters in jurisdictions across the country.

Ragesh regularly represents national and regional law firms in cases in California and throughout the country. He has represented numerous major law firms in professional negligence claims, arising from work done in a variety of underlying areas including intellectual property litigation, patent prosecution, general corporate matters, and tax. In addition to representing law firms, Ragesh regularly represents individuals and companies in intellectual property and technology-related disputes, including patent, copyright, and trade secret cases, and high-stakes breach of contract matters.

Ragesh clerked for the Hon. A. Raymond Randolph on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He has taught the Introduction to Civil Procedure and Law on Lawyering courses at Berkeley Law, and spoken frequently on issues including trade secret law, professional negligence, and legal ethics.

Ragesh serves on the Boards of Governors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (President), the Northern District Historical Society (President), and the California Law Review. He is the Past President of the Edward J. McFetridge Inn of Court, a former member the Board of Governors of the Bar Association of San Francisco, previously served as a co-chair of the Lawyer Representatives of the Northern District of California to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, and is the former Board President of The Shotgun Players.
Chambers & Partners ranked Ragesh among the top practitioners in California for trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation in 2023, and highlighted his “wide-ranging IP expertise including trade secrets disputes and trademark matters for an array of household-name companies.”
