Biography
Kimberly Schmitt is Vice President and Director of Patent Litigation at Intel. She leads a team that manages high-stakes patent litigations and negotiations globally. With over two decades of experience in patent and trade secret litigation, Kim has litigated cases in multiple U.S. District Courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and international courts. Her team oversees all aspects of litigation, including discovery, claim construction, depositions, summary judgment, trial, and appeal. A registered member of the patent bar, Kim frequently speaks on patent issues at conferences. At Intel, she contributes to initiatives that promote workplace equity and merit-based outcomes. Before joining Intel in 2012, Kim was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and an associate at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP in the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a physics degree from Dartmouth College and a law degree from Boston University School of Law.
