Andy Adler

Biography

Andy Adler is a member of the appellate division of the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. He has briefed and argued dozens of appeals in the Eleventh Circuit, including the en banc Court.

Over the past five years, he has also argued four cases in the U.S. Supreme Court. He was recently appointed by Chief Justice Roberts to serve on the Judicial Conference’s Advisory Committee for the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure.

Before joining the Federal Defender’s Office, he was an associate at Boies, Schiller & Flexner. Before private practice, he clerked for Judges Rosemary Barkett and Peter Fay, both of the Eleventh Circuit, as well as Kathleen Williams of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He also served as a staff attorney on the Eleventh Circuit.

He is a magma cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School Of law, and a graduate of Emory University.
