Biography
Luke McCloud is a partner at Williams & Connolly in Washington, DC. His practice focuses on complex civil disputes. Luke has tried cases to judgment in federal and state courts across the country. He is also an experienced appellate advocate. He has argued four times in the U.S. Supreme Court and in multiple federal courts of appeals, and has filed dozens of briefs in high-stakes appeals. In 2024, Luke returned to Williams & Connolly after serving as an Assistant to the Solicitor General at the Department of Justice, where he received the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award. Luke clerked for then-Judge Kavanaugh on the D.C. Circuit and Justice Sotomayor on the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech and Harvard Law School and grew up in Eastern Kentucky.
