Title IX is the federal civil rights law that protects students against sex discrimination, including sexual harassment
and violence. Enforcement of Title IX for victims of campus sexual assault expanded dramatically under the Obama
administration, and there is widespread concern that the new Trump administration may revise or roll back some of these
new protections. Please join us for two public presentations open to the Stanford community on the subject of campus
sexual assault, including a keynote speech by Jon Krakauer, the New York Times bestselling author of Missoula, and a panel
featuring former Obama Administration Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Catherine Lhamon and the former Chief of the
Educational Opportunities Section in the Civil Rights Division of the Obama Justice Department Anurima Bhargava.
Seating is limited so please RSVP at https://conferences.law.stanford.edu/thewayforward-title9.
