Jeffrey Housenbold

Jeff is a venture capitalist, funding and advising the next generation of exceptional entrepreneurs who want to change the world in truly transformational ways. He is a widely recognized entrepreneurial and visionary CEO with 25 years of experience in leading, operating, and investing in hyper-growth consumer and enterprise companies across various industry sectors, including E-Commerce, Marketplaces, Media, Entertainment, Retail, Fintech, Education, Real Estate, and Agriculture. Jeff has served as a Board Director for multiple private and public companies and as an investor and adviser to numerous Silicon Valley start-ups.

Jeff is currently a Managing Partner at SoftBank Investment Advisers, helping manage and lead the firm’s $100 Billion Vision Fund.

Prior to SoftBank, Jeff was with Sutter Hill Ventures as an Entrepreneur in Residence, where he advised the firm on enterprise and consumer investments.  Before SHV, Mr. Housenbold spent eleven years as CEO of leading online retailer and manufacturer Shutterfly, Inc., turning a modest 100 employee business into a successful market leader worth more than $1.8bn and overseeing 20x growth in revenue, profit, and market capitalization.

Prior to his time at Shutterfly, Inc., Mr. Housenbold held senior executive roles at eBay, AltaVista, Raging Bull, Winstar Communications, and was co-founder of Accenture’s Media & Entertainment Strategy Practice. Mr. Housenbold is currently a Board Director at Grab, Plenty, Katerra, Wag and Chegg and is a member of the board of Trustees at Carnegie Mellon University.  He previously held roles as an advisor to KKR & Co. L.P. and as a Director to Shutterfly, Caesars Entertainment, Groupon, Munchery, Digital Chocolate, Clover and There.

Mr. Housenbold earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Dean’s Fellow and his undergraduate degrees in Economics and Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was an Andrew Carnegie Presidential Scholar and graduated with High Honors.
