Koonal Gandhi
Chief Investment Officer, Berggruen Holdings
Mr. Gandhi joined Berggruen Holdings in 2018 as its Chief Investment Officer. He is responsible for the management and oversight of over 50 direct investments in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Koonal plays a key role in Berggruen’s buyout activities, investment sourcing, portfolio oversight and firm administration. He was previously the Chief Investment Officer and a Senior Vice President of the Kaiser Family Foundation. He has served as a senior government appointee during both the Bush and Obama administrations, including at the Troubled Asset Relief Program at the United States Treasury. He earned a dual degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, where he graduated as a Presidential Management Fellow.
