Josh has been in Silicon Valley for 40 years as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and lawyer. He has worked closely with some of the Valley’s greatest entrepreneurs and completed many transactions that have been among the largest and most successful over the past four decades. Previously, Josh was named one of the top 45 lawyers under 45 years old by American Lawyer Magazine and placed on the Forbes Midas List of dealmakers in 2005.
He is currently Senior Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy and was previously General Counsel at Carbon, Inc., a 3D printing company which has raised over $680M from the premier investors in technology. Josh was a general partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, a venture capital fund with $2B AUM during his tenure at the firm from 2006 to 2019. Previously, Josh was instrumental in helping to build two Silicon Valley law firms, Venture Law Group and the Palo Alto office of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, both of which became leading law firms. He also served as Chairman of the NVCA from 2013-2014. Josh has served on more than a dozen Boards of Directors for high technology startups, and estimates that he has led the IPO process for over 100 companies, completed more 1000 venture financings and advised over 300 venture-backed startup companies as both outside counsel and advisor.
Josh graduated magna cum laude from UCLA and the UCLA School of Law where he was on the Law Review. He was also the undergraduate commencement speaker at UCLA in 2001. Josh also coached high school basketball for eight years, has been married for over 40 years, has two daughters and sons-in-law, and one granddaughter.
