FAQs

Why is Alumni Weekend postponed?

Stanford Law School has made the difficult decision to postpone Alumni Weekend 2020 until 2021 due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. This decision is based on guidance from the University, consideration for public health, and concern for the well-being of students, alumni, faculty and staff. Our plan is to offer an engaging reunion experience in 2021 when large gatherings may be permitted. In the meantime, we’d like to virtually celebrate to mark your reunion milestone.

In honor of their 50th reunion celebrations, the Classes of 1970 and 1971 will commemorate their golden reunion on campus the weekend of September 10-12, 2021.

Are virtual events planned so I can reconnect with my class?

Some reunion committees have planned virtual gatherings for their class. Visit the Class-Specific Virtual Events tab on the Virtual Reunion website to view if your class has a virtual event planned.

How do I receive a refund on my hotel reservations made on the Stanford reunion website?

If you have made hotel reservations on reunion.stanford.edu through our partner HBC Event Services, your reservations will be automatically canceled and you will be issued a full refund.

If you have questions or would like to rebook your reservations please contact HBC at (505) 346-0522 or email support@hbceventservices.com.

If you have made arrangements with third-party hotels or car rental agencies, please contact them directly to inquire about their cancellation policies.

Is the football game on Saturday, October 17 canceled?

Stanford Athletics continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely in collaboration with university, government officials and public health experts. Updates regarding Stanford Athletics events and policies will be posted at GoStanford.com and on Twitter (@gostanford) as they become available.

Is the Golden Gavel Society Luncheon postponed?

The Golden Gavel Society luncheon, which typically takes place on Friday of Alumni Weekend, will not be hosted in 2020. We hope Golden Gavel Society members will join us in all Reunion 2020 virtual celebrations.

We will post updated information in the coming months about Alumni Weekend 2021 and the Golden Gavel Society Luncheon.

Can I still view my Class Book?

Yes. Visit the Class Book webpage to view your class book. September 1 was the deadline to submit a page but the books will be reopened next year to edit existing pages or to submit new pages. Any pages that have been submitted this year will remain in the class books for Alumni Weekend 2021.

When will Alumni Weekend 2021 dates be announced?

Typically, the dates for Alumni Weekend are announced approximately 9-10 months in advance (December/January).

Will Alumni Weekend 2021 have combined events with next year’s reunion classes?

We thank you for your patience while we explore many scenarios (including possible combined events) and determine the best and safest course of action for all alumni celebrating their reunion.
