Mark Owen is a partner with Taylor Wessing in London. He is a leading IP and information litigator and transactional lawyer with over 25 years’ in practice. As well as an English solicitor, he has been a member of the California Bar since 1993.
Mark counsels and represents European and US clients in dealing with challenges and opportunities created at the intersection of intellectual property and technological development. Much of his work is multi-territory in scope and he advises under both UK and EU laws. While Mark works across a wide range of IP and digital law issues, he has acted in numerous disputes and transactions concerning evolving copyright models, fair dealing/fair use, rights in data and intermediary liability. Many of his other cases have involved protecting the rights of innovative US companies against having their brands, look and feel, and business models being taken by European imitators.
Mark has litigated before all levels of UK and EU Court including handling the first copyright and jurisdiction case before the UK Supreme Court. He presents and writes widely on IP and digital law issues.
