Ryan Straus

Ryan Straus is Counsel at Fenwick & West LLP and Co-Chair of the firm’s Payments Systems Practice.

As a lawyer with a background in both technology and financial services, Ryan focuses his practice on providing strategic advice to companies on legal, policy and business issues relating to e-commerce and financial technology. Ryan frequently counsels participants from both the public and private sectors regarding innovations in consumer finance and assists clients with payment and lending matters, including electronic payments, mobile payments, prepaid cards, virtual and digital currencies, consumer lending, and federal and state licensing.

In addition to his law practice, Ryan serves as an adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law and co-developed the Digital Commerce and Financial Technology curriculum for Seattle University’s new Master of Laws degree in Innovation and Technology Law.
